Aristotle says, “Educating the Mind without Educating the Heart is No Education at all.” Character formation is the most important aspects of education. It aims to foster the moral values and develop the virtues in the character of the child. In the fast paced modern world and the clamorous education system, the aspirants begin with simple learning and as they grow higher it becomes ambiguous. What is it all about? It is to acquire a method to be reflective, integrate, implemented and grow in wisdom. Moreover the magnitude of human knowledge, globalization and the accelerating rate of change due to technology necessitate a shift in our system of education. Adjusting our mindset to the rapidity of changes and its impact on the fragile minds are a matter of concern.

Therefore, as Educators, Parents and well wishers of our young generations, we need to guide the impressionable minds under our care and ensure that the child thrives in the environment of changes, maintaining the credibility through Values and Ethos that we have nurtured over the years. The basic tenets of character, ethics, values and morality should be kept intact. There is a necessity to steer the wheel of knowledge to thinking from plateaus of knowledge to continuous cycles of learning and critically analytics. Martin Luther King quotes: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically”.
