Kindergarten

At Sparkles International School, every little step leads to a wonderful new discovery! Our Kindergarten programme creates a joyful and nurturing environment where young minds are encouraged to explore, imagine, ask questions, and learn through experience. Aligned with the CBSE curriculum, our programme beautifully blends Montessori and Play-Way teaching methods, making learning an exciting adventure rather than just a classroom activity. Through playful learning, creative activities, storytelling, music, movement, and hands-on exploration, children develop essential skills while discovering the world around them. Our Playgroup, Pre-KG, KG1, and KG2 programmes nurture every aspect of a child’s growth, including physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development. With vibrant learning spaces, caring educators, and individual attention, we help children build confidence, express their ideas, develop friendships, and discover their unique abilities. At Sparkles International School, we believe that happy children become enthusiastic learners. That is why we make every day an opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and lay a strong foundation for a confident, independent, and lifelong learner.

OVERVIEW AND CURRICULUM

Children in playgroup must be between the ages of one and two and a half, as determined at the beginning of the school year. A child’s first independent experience outside of their home, which is typically centred around their primary carer, the mother, occurs during playgroup. Naturally, this must be a brief period of time of the day in order to prepare for later longer academic programmes. An recommended amount of time for playgroup school is three hours. More than this amount of time per day is not advised as it disrupts the children’s regular physiological rhythm, causing them to become physically and psychologically exhausted.

At SPARKLES, PreKG begins with acclimating and introducing kids to their new everyday environment. Children are introduced to EPL (Exercise of Practical Life) and sensorial materials after settling in, which can take up to 3 weeks in most cases. In addition, kids also play with open-ended toys like blocks and natural materials from the environment. The typical curriculum includes doing campus outdoor walks and gathering natural items. Rhyme time includes both traditional kindergarten songs and finger rhymes. There is a lot of emphasis on kids moving around during circle time in animal movements, etc.

At SPARKLES, KG 1 is characterised by comprehensive review of all subject covered in PreKG as well as a formal introduction to the alphabet and numbers through tracing using Montessori tools and small movables. Because youngsters are still extremely sensitive to touch until they are between 3 and 4 years old, tracing is crucial. Therefore, they may assimilate sensory and muscle memory impressions, whether they are letters of the alphabet or numbers. During circle time, the rhymes and stories become a little more vocab-rich, and  improvised role-playing based on the stories spoken is encouraged to help kids develop their self-assurance and social skills.
